AIM FOR ZERO WASTE
JOIN THE “AIM FOR ZERO WASTE” CHALLENGE AND BE PART OF THE SOLUTION:
Let’s try to minimize the trash we produce and think about the reuse and recycling of items.
Think about how much trash you produce in just one week. Producing less trash does more than just help the environment, it also saves money and leads to healthier eating habits. Zero-waste living may seem overwhelming at first, but with a few first steps, we can easily begin to make important and powerful consumer shifts — and truly make a difference.
HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS CHALLENGE
1. Simplify, simplify
Zero-waste living is more than just about trash — it’s about simplifying our needs.
2. Refuse & Reuse
The easiest thing we can do each day is to avoid single-use disposable wastes like plastic water bottles, to-go cups, plastic-wrapped food, food containers, plastic straws & utensils.
Bring reusable bags with you on your shopping trips to minimize plastic bag use. Do what you can to shy away from single-use items including: paper plates and cups, disposable knives and forks, razors and coffee pods. Bring your own reusable water bottle and your reusable cup for coffee/tea to your local coffee shop.
3. Repair
If something breaks, try to repair it instead of simply throwing it away and going to the store to buy a new one.
Consider buying secondhand or refurbished items instead of buying something new.
4. Make your own shampoo/soap/cleaners
They will save you money and are healthier for you and for the environment and you will skip all those plastic bottles.
Here are some recipes:

And many more products such as creams, shampoo, makeup…
5. Compost food waste
Avoid sending your food waste to the landfill each day by composting your food.
