JOIN THE “TAKE ACTION” CHALLENGE AND BE PART OF THE SOLUTION:
Nothing is quite as gratifying as getting out of the house and caring for the place that gave us life. Have fun giving back – you’ll meet new people and lay down some positive footprints on our global home.
HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS CHALLENGE
1. Plant trees
Arbor Day Foundation tracks national and local planting projects that welcome volunteer green thumbs. In U.S. Forest Service land alone, a million fire-damaged acres await replanting.
2. Join a community garden
You’ll work with your neighbors and community members to grow nutritious, healthy fruits and veggies that you know came from a good source. And you can share your harvest with local community organizations who feed the hungry. Create a community garden or join an existing community garden
3. Talk to someone about biodiversity Communicate about a conservation project
4. Compensate your CO2 emissions Donate to a cause you like.
